Single-phase transformers

A significant proportion of EREA's product range consists of single-phase transformers. The most common types of transformer are included in our standard range, but the custom options are virtually unlimited. Contact us at any time to discuss your custom requirements. We are happy to produce a one-off custom transformer, or a made-to-order production run. The information we need to draw up a quotation is set out here.   We have several series of single-phase transformers: Safety transformers (TS, SB and SC series) These transformers are used to supply circuits requiring Safety Extra-Low Voltage (SELV) to guarantee personal safety. Voltages typically used in such circuits are 12V, 24V and 48V. Main characteristics of safety transformers      ° Available from 10 VA to 630 VA       ° Primary voltage: 230 V or 400 V       ° Secondary voltage: 12 V or 24 V (48V using 2 secondaries in combination)      ° IP20 (TS series)/IP54 (SB and SC series)  Applications of safety transformers portable tools, doorbells, toys etc.    Control transformers (TC: series) Control transformers are used to supply control circuits in machines. They are therefore designed in such a way that a brief overload will result in only a limited voltage drop. Main characteristics of safety transformers      ° Available from 10 VA to 10 kVA       ° Primary voltage: 230 V, 245 V, 400 V or 415 V       ° Secondary voltage: 115V and 230 V or 24 V and 48 V  Applications of safety transformers power supply to switches, signalling, locking etc.   Autotransformers (TAB series) Single-phase autotransformers provide for a modification in the voltage, without galvanic isolation between the two sides of the transformer. This means that the dimensions and the cost price of the transformer are lower than for an isolating transformer of equivalent capacity. Main characteristics of safety transformers      ° Available from 35 VA to 4 kVA       ° A wide range of voltages  Applications of safety transformers Conversion of 230V <-> 115V, Load regulation for motors, etc.   Low inrush current transformers (EC/IRC) The EC/IRC range has been developed for use in domestic and tertiary electrical installations, which often lack the capacity to connect an industrial transformer. Main characteristics of safety transformers      ° Available from 3.7 kVA to 11 kVA       ° Primary voltage: 230 V or 245 V       ° Secondary voltage: 230 V      ° Low inrush current: primary fuse Type C on the nominal current      ° High efficiency      ° Safety isolating transformers Applications of safety transformers Transformers in this series have been developed to create a neutral conductor (a conductor at earth potential) for charging stations for electrical vehicles. They can, however, be used in all other applications where the lack of a neutral conductor causes problems. You can find more detailed information in this whitepaper.   Transformers for halogen lighting (SC/SKA) Transformers used to supply 12V and 24V halogen lighting equipment have specific characteristics. Our halogen lighting transformers come with short circuit protection built in, to ensure safety. They also have highly specific output voltages: 11.5V for 12V halogen lamps and 23V for 24V halogen lamps. The slightly lower output voltage ensures the service life of the lamp if the mains supply is a little higher than normal. Main characteristics of safety transformers      ° Available from 50 VA to 630 VA       ° Primary voltage: 230 V       ° Secondary voltage: 11.5 V or 23 V      ° Built-in short circuit protection
